A new dining experience has arrived in Concord, bringing the flavors, traditions, and warmth of Brazil to The Veranda. Espetus Churrascaria has transformed its space into an elegant Brazilian steakhouse where dining becomes more than a meal; it becomes a cultural experience.

The heart of Espetus is churrasco, the traditional Brazilian style of grilling meat over an open flame. The name Espetus means “skewers” in Portuguese, and guests experience the tradition of rodízio-style dining, where Gaucho chefs continuously bring skewers of fire-grilled meats directly to the table and carve each selection to order.
The menu features 14 cuts of premium meats, including steak, pork, lamb, chicken, and shrimp. The meats are grilled over natural mesquite charcoal, creating the authentic smoky flavor that defines Brazilian barbecue. Many of the meats are sourced from Harris Ranch, ensuring quality with every serving.

Beyond the parade of meats, guests can enjoy an abundant buffet featuring fresh salads, Brazilian specialties, hot sides, and the beloved pão de queijo, warm Brazilian cheese bread served throughout the meal. Weekend diners can also enjoy Feijoada, Brazil’s iconic black bean stew prepared with pork and traditional accompaniments.
The Concord location marks the third chapter for Espetus, a family-owned restaurant founded by Brazilian native Paulo Klein. Klein’s journey in the Brazilian steakhouse industry began more than 40 years ago in 1984 as a server and grill master. After opening his first restaurant in New Jersey in 1996, he brought Espetus to San Francisco in 2003 and later to San Mateo in 2008. Today, Paulo and his wife, Thays, continue to lead the company while sharing their heritage through food and hospitality.

“Taking over the former Texas de Brazil space in 2024, the we discovered the transition would be much more than a simple changeover,” said Thays. Indeed, the Kleins spent a year redesigning the space, transforming it from a rustic western theme into a glamorous dining destination. The result is a spacious, sophisticated setting, two outdoor patios, a striking bar, and seating for up to 300.

Chef Robson Barreto, who helped create the original Espetus dishes, has been part of the company since its first San Francisco opening. Today, Chef Fernando Teles leads culinary operations and training across all three locations, maintaining the consistency and tradition that have become part of the Espetus experience.
Espetus Concord quietly opened its doors in December 2025, allowing the team time to perfect the experience and introduce itself to the community. The response has been positive, with diners discovering a place designed for date nights, family celebrations, business gatherings/corporate events, and special occasions.
FIFA FEST World Cup Watch Parties

“Brazilian culture and football are inseparable,” says Thays. What better environment to watch all of FIFA World Cup than during Espetus FIFA World Cup Fest with an added energetic Brazilian flair during Brazil National Team’s matches.
So far, the watch parties have been wildly successful aided by a large 150” screen on the outdoor patio, Live DJ, Aquarela Samba dancers, plus all the food, specialty cocktails, and signature bar bites.
Admission is $25 and includes an Espetus FIFA World Cup Mug (while supplies last) of draft beer with $5 refills. A complete VIP experience.
