On Sunday, September 27, 2026, Baldwin Park at 2727 Parkside Circle will be filled with bikes, families, live music, food trucks, arts and crafts and a whole lot of pedal power for a first of its kind Concord Pedal Fest.
I am excited to present this event celebrating biking in our community. This event is a collaboration with the City of Concord, Bike Concord, the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce, Bike East Bay, and Mechanics Bank.
From 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., folks will find a myriad of activities for all ages including: a bike rodeo, skills activities, arts and crafts, food trucks, and tables hosted by community organizations. There will be plenty of opportunities for kids and families to ride, learn, and play. Plus, pedaling will literally power the event making smoothies, spin art, and live bike-powered music.
Local eclectic world fusion band Quattro will be performing live, providing the soundtrack while families ride, create, eat, and explore.
Turn in an outgrown mike, leave with a right-sized ride
One of the exciting parts of Concord Pedal Fest is what we call our “UpCycle” Bike Program, a partnership with Bike Concord and Mount Diablo Resource Recovery (MDRR).
Every parent knows how quickly kids can outgrow their bikes; almost as fast as they outgrow their shoes. Replacing bikes every time a child hits a growth spurt can get expensive. “UpCycle” gives those bikes another life.
Mount Diablo Resource Recovery (MDRR) is helping us recover bicycles that can be put back into use rather than going to waste, while Bike Concord’s volunteer mechanics are working to get them tuned up and ready for new riders.
At Pedal Fest, families can bring a bike their child has outgrown, and we will help them find a properly sized bike to take its place, as inventory allows. It’s exciting to be able to help kids get on a bike that fits them comfortably and that they can ride safely. Families save money and we reduce waste at the same time.
Bike Concord will also be on hand to supply air for tires and perform minor tune-ups.
Families interested in taking a two-and-a-half-hour Family Cycling Workshop taught by Bike East Bay must register in advance. A link is provided on the Concord Pedal Fest website, concordpedalfest.com.
Come for the bikes, stay for the tacos
September also marks the return of Visit Concord’s popular Taco Trail Challenge, which kicks off September 15, and runs for a month. One of the Taqueros participating in this year’s Taco Trail Challenge will also be serving at Pedal Fest. You can make some progress on your Taco Trail Challenge while you’re at Baldwin Park. There will be other food trucks there as well.

There are many reasons to come to Concord Pedal Fest. You don’t have to consider yourself a “cyclist.” Come by to grab a taco, listen to Quattro, learn how to ride safely, check out the hands- on activities, or simply enjoy an afternoon in the park with friends and neighbors.
A complimentary bike valet will be on-site to park your bike while you enjoy the event.
