The final round featured challenging words such as “rhizome,” “tintinnabulation,” and “wurtzite.”
Contra Costa County Superintendent of Schools Lynn Mackey said. “I am very proud of Akshara for representing our county at this competition. Earning this achievement as a fifth grader is truly remarkable and showcases her dedication to studying the English language.”
The event, facilitated by the San Joaquin County Office of Education, saw Akshara competing against 44 other students from fourth through sixth grade. The competition took place at the Great Wolf Lodge in Manteca, providing a memorable backdrop for this prestigious event.
