Did you know that rice, like other starches, packs a lot of calories, contributing to that mid-section spread we all hate so much? That is because rice by itself is not a resistant starch.
By changing your cooking method slightly, you can turn rice into a resistant starch which means you will not be absorbing up to 65% of its calories.
Add a teaspoon of Coconut Oil into the boiling water before you add the rice, allowing it to fully dissolve. Next, after the rice is cooked, cool it overnight in the fridge – the cooling is the very important part of the process as it makes the rice molecules more densely packed which inhibits digestion.
Not only will the rice have less than half the calories when you eat it, but it is also beneficial for your overall health and even acts as a probiotic.
